The boreal forest in northeastern Alberta
is characterized by a variety of cover type, including; Jack
Pine, Aspen, Tamarack, White and Black Poplar, Birch and
Black Spruce. Much of the northeastern boreal forest is
muskeg and is all but inaccessible with the exception of cutlines
created by Alberta's booming oil & gas industry. |
Winefred lake Lodge is
uniquely located within the boreal forest to provide an ideal
staging area for hunting deer, moose and black bear.
Situated in Wildlife Management Unit (WMU) 517, we offer quality
hunts with personalized guiding
in one of Alberta's most remote
hunting regions. Winefred Lake Lodge is open year-round,
enabling us to monitor wildlife movement on a full-time basis.
Our season runs from the beginning of September through to the
end of November. All hunts are conducted using several different
tactics, … these include; ATV's, Tree Stands, Ground Blinds or
Spot-n'-Stalk.
Hunts are 7 days in duration and include 5 hunting days and two
travel days.
Round-trip transportation between Winefred Lake Lodge and the
Fort McMurray Airport is provided. Hunters should plan to arrive
the day prior to a scheduled hunt.
A deposit of $1000.00 (USD) per hunter is required. The balance
of the cost of your hunt is paid upon arrival at the lodge. All
payments should be made payable to Winefred Lake Lodge Inc. in
the form of a Cashiers Cheque, Debit, Money Order, Cash, Visa,
MasterCard or American Express. The 5% Goods & Services Tax (GST)
is not included in the price of the hunt.
